Carol McPhillips-Tangum, MPH, has over 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry.  Prior to co-founding Experion Healthcare Group, Carol spent several years as the Director of Health Promotion Research at the Prudential Center for Healthcare Research and served as the Director of the Center for Health Improvement at Blue Shield of California.  Prior to her work in the private health sector, she worked at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

At Experion, Carol focuses on health services research including quantitative and qualitative research methods.  She also assists clients to translate scientific and technical information into effective communication tools for target audiences such as legislators, patients, and physicians.  She has authored numerous reports and articles in peer-reviewed journals on topics such as obesity, tobacco control, back pain, public health informatics and preventive services.

Carol earned a Master of Public Health degree at the University of Texas Houston School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of California at San Diego.
